Lyrically inclined faces and torsos and gestures of parts of body are formed with a subtle balance. They are reliefs made of glass. Her sculptures are built out of shards, fractures and cracks, vestiges, and traces that create the soul and emotions of her objects. They refer to history, growth, aging and wear as Mészáros adds and takes away from her works. Quoting Mészáros, “I make sculptures that express eternal, universal human feelings. I make them from glass, a material that is as fragile as human beings, and as strong as humanity.” Collected by the Museum for Toegepaste Kunsten, Budapest – Musée des Arts Décoratifs, Lausanne – Glasmuseum Ebeltoft (DK) – Glasmuseum Rheinbach (D) – Fine Art Museum San Francisco – M.H.de Young Memorial Museum, USA – Laczko Dezsö Muzeum, Veszprem (H) – Rippl-Ronai Muzeum, Kaposvar (H) – Alcorcon Museum voor Glaskunst, Madrid – Museum van der Togt, Amstelveen. Mari Mészáros glassculpturen zijn de ultieme metafoor van wat de mens is: het enigma van een opgeteld verleden, verklaard of verder gemystificeerd door een scheppende geest en voor eeuwig vastgelegd in een glazen kunstwerk. “Ik maak het van glas, een materiaal dat breekbaar is als de mens en sterk als de mensheid.”"}
