Dall schildert de essentie van haar bestaan binnen haar eigen betekenis van tijdloosheid. Het is door deze tijdloosheid dat zij de onvolmaakte schoonheid van een rechte lijn; de subtiele sensatie van het winterzonlicht en de textuur van ruw canvas waardeert. Tay Dall (1966, South Africa) Her art does not fall under the cliché or any canons of modern art. Dall uses various media in thick layers to bring depth and richness to a lifeless surface. Dall does not dwell on social or political causes or paint for a particular audience. On the contrary, Tay Dall paints for the purest pleasure of creation, for the free flow of subconscious thought, and for the need to escape the confines of law and order. Dall’s way of seeing things within her own sense of timelessness, the appreciation of the imperfect beauty of color and form, the subtle splash of winter sunlight, and the texture of rough canvas - pure-raw-genuine soul. This is Dall’s personal struggle with art, the incongruous relationship between structure and space. There is often a furious circular quality evident in a Dall composition. Many of the organic forms in her work are but mere extensions of the circle. To Dall, the circle of life begins and ends in the exact same spot. Within Rabbit Hole the collage painting has themes from various cultures from different parts of the world. The collage layer was chosen according to the center points, colors, and themes that were expressed in that layer to create an overall painting balance in composition. The images and therefore the meanings within the context of the work are hidden in the frenetic world of layered paint and brush strokes. This idea of who we are can be confusing and difficult at the best of times. The work engages the viewer by encouraging a closer look at what is hidden within the context of the canvas. The lesson is that you cannot hide from reality and truth, you are forced down the proverbial Rabbit Hole. Tay Dall (Afrique du Sud, 1966), peintre sud-africaine qui ne relève d'aucun cliché, d'aucun mouvement. Ses peintures abstraites associent souvent collage, encre, pastel et crayon. L'art de Dall montre sa façon de voir la vie, elle ne se conforme pas aux circonstances sociales ou politiques. La nécessité d’échapper aux frontières de la loi et de l’ordre caractérise son travail. Elle peint l'essence de son existence dans son propre sens de l'intemporalité : ‘’Chaque spectateur peut inter préter mon travail de façon différente. Ce que je peins est personnel. C’est mon histoire personnelle. Par cela j’entends : c’est une représentation de mes expériences et de comment je perçois le monde qui m’entoure’’. "}
