\u013dubom\u00edr Ferko <\/b>(1956, Slowakije) is een bekende Oost-Europese glaskunstenaar. Hij studeerde Toegepaste Kunsten in Bratislava en bezocht de Kunstacademie in Belgrado en de Kunsthochschule in Keulen. Als mededirecteur van de Vereniging van Slowaakse Glaskunstenaars houdt Ferko zich, wanneer hij geen lezingen geeft of deelneemt aan symposia, voornamelijk bezig met optisch glas en de mogelijkheden van de combinatie met andere klassieke sculpturale materialen. Hij vermijdt de commercialisering van zijn kunst door zich te concentreren op de Slowaakse glaskunst en -industrie als geheel en niet op zijn eigen succes.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Ferko heeft glas gegoten in vloeiende stukken die vaak zijn ingelegd met kalligrafie en gevormd om een reeks conceptuele reflecties op de bolwerken van spiritualiteit te cre\u00ebren. Zijn werk heeft wortels in het christendom, de islam, het jodendom en het Tibetaans boeddhisme die hun spirituele wijsheid onthullen.
