Encaustiek & olieverf op paneel, 35 x 35 cm<\/p>\n

Birgit Huttemann-Holz<\/strong>, (1956, Karlsruhe, Duitsland) heeft een expertise ontwikkeld in de eeuwig oude techniek van encaustic schilderen (bijenwaasd). In april 2015 publiceerde Huttemann-Holz haar boek (Fundamentals in Encaustic schilderen). In haar eigen woorden: \"Was en poedervormige droge pigmenten zijn het consistente medium in mijn schilderijen geweest. Ik gebruik vuur en scheermesjes om mijn schilderijen aan te vallen en uit te dagen. Ik spring en faal, maar waar creativiteit en falen dansen, benader ik de waarheid. Wanneer ik slaag, transcendeer ik tragedie en zie ik het ontstaan van schoonheid en het kortstondige. In onze snel veranderende wereld wordt de oneindige pracht van het natuurlijke proces van entropie en verval een metafoor voor het continu\u00fcm: een gevallen wereld, maar vrij om vorm en doel te overwinnen. Het is gewoon een staat van transitie, van verandering, van evolutie.
